Using AI to Accommodate All Learners

Jenna Triano and Kathleen Appleby — Innovations in Online Education

Let’s investigate the potential of technology, especially AI, to transform traditional education. By integrating these tools, we can create even more engaging and meaningful learning experiences tailored to the unique needs of increasingly diverse learners. Let's talk about how AI can help identify individual strengths and challenges, allowing for personalized support that complements (but does not replace) traditional teaching methods. We will share ways that AI can be used to foster home-school and school-community connections that inspire whole child learning. We will discuss how current technologies can enhance the existing efforts of educators, providing them with innovative resources and insights to enrich their classrooms, and to connect their classroom to the real world.

Conversational Practice

Process:

Setting the Stage: Begin with a clear agenda and objectives to ensure everyone understands the goals of the session.

Opening Round: Each participant shares their thoughts or experiences related to the topic at hand, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.

Focused Discussion: Divide into smaller groups to explore specific challenges or ideas. Each group discusses for a set time before sharing insights with the larger group.

Collaborative Brainstorming: Use tools like sticky notes or digital platforms for participants to jot down ideas and solutions collaboratively.

Closing Reflection: Conclude with a round of reflections, allowing participants to share key takeaways and next steps.

This practice promotes collaboration, idea sharing, and a collective approach to problem-solving in education.
